After 10 months’ waiting, Norwest Chess Academy hosted a face to face Chess Tournament on 20th March 2022. It was so good seeing children back to the classroom and trying their best in their chess games!
Special thanks to Amit and Megan, who assisted as supervisors in this tournament!
We would like to name below students who played outstanding results during this tournament:
- Our Champion: Kevin Chen: He is 12 years old and one of the strongest chess players in our club. He won 6 games and drew a game in this tournament.
- Johnny Cong won Gold Medal in the 12-14 years old group.
- Ethan D’costa won Gold Medal in the 10-11 years old Group.
- Jonny and Ethan are from our online classes. Remote learning works!
- Elton Chan is only 5.5 years old. He is from our Jasper Road Public School Class. This is his first time joining a chess tournament and he won 3 games. Well done Elton !
