We would like to share exciting news about one of our advanced class students, Palash, age 14, who represented himself at an international chess event this year.
Palash travelled solo to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia after a 9-hours flight to compete in the Daniel Yong Chen -1 Memorial Malaysia Chess Challenge 2025, held from Sep12th to 21st of September 2025 at Kuala Lumpur Gateway Mall. This marked an important milestone in Palash’s chess journey – his first time participating in an international chess tournament.
Palash delivered an excellent performance, scoring 4 points out of 9. For a 14-year-old competing at an international level for the first time, this is a remarkable achievement.
Below Palash is sharing his experience:
“ The chess tournament in Malaysia was an amazing experience. It pushed me to think really hard and be strategic. I learned to stay calm under pressure. I love the atmosphere and meeting other chess players. It was a great way to improve my skills and make new friends who love chess, just like me. I had a blast and can’t wait to play again. “
We are extremely proud of Palash’s resilience, courage and achievements. Palash has also kindly shared some photos from his chess journey in Malaysia, giving us a glimpse into his travel experience and the tournament atmosphere.
